Transform your old kitchen to modern

White cabinets can be installed all the way to the ceiling. The crown molding projects far into the room. These design choices lend the illusion of height, an element often missing from older homes. Use glass doors on the upper cabinets to expand the space horizontally and add reflective light. Extra storage is an absolute must when converting an older kitchen to modern times! Install a floor to ceiling pantry cabinet that stores food while glass cabinets can store everyday glasses and china.

Create a self-serve cocktail bar

Arrange cocktails and or champagne on a dining table or server to create a party look. Perch an ice bucket on a tray. This will be the centerpiece for fun and easy cocktail party.

Reinvent your space

You can keep your personalilty flowing by placing your collectibles on display on a shelf or shelving units. You can show off your books or vintage collection. This design element can break up a wall and will also get you organized.

Reinvent your space

Repaint a room to redefine  the space and create the mood that want to achieve when entering. Light colors can make the room feel spacious. Yellow can bring a room to life. While blue's and greens bring in solitude.

Focal Point

You can create a focal point in every room. Place one surprising design element that pops with color and draws the eye.

Contrast

Contrast can provide "pizazz" to a room.  The furniture should be all the same style but the accessories can introduce different patterns and colors to unify.  You can do this by featuring the same color on a number of different items in the room.

Balance

Visual balance can be shown symmetrically and asymmetrically. An example of symmetrical design could be two vases placed on each end of a fireplace. An example of asymmetrical design is when a vase and a candlestick are at each end of the fireplace. It is two dissimilar objects used to balance one another. Size and placement of decor items can balance your space.

Proportion

Proportion deals with the size of objects in relation to the other objects in  a room. Thus a large piece of furniture like a piano would look disproportionate in a small room.
